Crono Rally - 8 to 11 August 2024

Crono Rally 2024 will be hosted at “Die Houthoop Guest Farm & Open-Air Restaurant” just outside Kleinsee in the Northern Cape.

This will be the ONLY bivouac for this year’s 4-day event.

Scrutineering and Prologue:

8th August Scrutineering will start 08:00 till 14:00 – all competitors have to pass Scrutineering checks to take part in this event.

The Prologue is compulsory as it will contribute to overall timing.

The 19km route is pure fam track with a spectacular RED Dune section where the Bucket-List Adventure guys will Cheer the competitors on.

The Top 5 Bike and Top 2 SxS competitors will choose their starting order positions.  All other will start as per timings achieved.

Stage 1 – Holgat route:

9th August Stage 1 – Starting with a Short Special Section then a neutralization zone, another Special Section ending with a head wind liaison back to the Bivouac. 1 fuel stop for the day. Tricky Jeep Tack, Rocky Mountains, lost of hidden waypoints and a Massive River section. Your Fitness will be tested.

The Bucket-List participants will take a scenic route down the West Coast and setup up camp on a beach spending the night at the Famous West Coast Ocean.

Stage 2 – West Coast Route:

10th August Stage 2 - The longest liaison to the Start of the Special as we head out of the Diamonds field to get to the Groenrivier Mond. Majestic Ocean views will meet you before heading off to many kilometres of private farm tracks. Only a few has ever been on these tracks. Navigation will be hard as there are MANY splits in the route running parallel to the track. Tricky Tricky Tricky.

The Bucket-list group will meet the Riders as they race past then head to the Doringriver Mountain range to setup camp and await the competitors on the final day.

Stage 3 – Nama Khoi (David Ellis) Route:

11th August Stage 3 - Starting with a section of last year epic day 5 route, dropping into multiple rivers then climbing to the Top of the Doringriver mountain ranges, the training routes David Ellis used, making Navigation and FOCUS critical! This will be a few levels up from last year’s route so there will be 2 cut-off points. Prepare yourself for some ROCKS, SAND and AMAIZING views that most people will never see.

Ending back at “Die Houthoop Guest Farm & Open-Air Restaurant” with a Braai and Prize giving.

Who will be Crowned Crono Champion this year?
